Easter Bonnet and Easter Egg Review

Havering-atte-Bower Conservation Society (HABCOS) held their annual Easter Bonnet Parade and Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 5th April.  Around 40 children arrived with their families, proudly wearing an array of colourful, imaginative, and entirely homemade Easter bonnets. From bright spring flowers to playful designs, the creativity on display made judging no easy task. Entries were split into three age categories—Year 6, Years 3 to 5, and Year 2 and below. Winners announced were Elsie (Year 6), Freddie (Years 3 to 5), Hope and Harper (Year 2 and below).

The excitement continued as the children set off into the woods for the Easter Egg Hunt. Armed with enthusiasm, they followed a trail, collecting tokens and answering questions along the way. Adding to the adventure, a host of much-loved fairy-tale characters appeared among the trees to guide them. Paddington Bear, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Tiger that came to tea, Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf all made special appearances, including a mouse delighting the children as they helped them complete their woodland quest.

The day ended with the children collecting an Easter egg having enjoyed a truly memorable community event.
