Jenny Gwinn
Chair
“I’m Jenny Gwinn, Chair of HABCOS. I have lived in the village for 20 years and love the community here. I enjoy working with the HABCOS Committee to maintain and promote the heritage and community of such an historic, beautiful village.”

Heather Marshall
Vice-Chair
“My name is Heather and I am HABCOS’s Secretary. I have been on the committee since HABCOS was formed in 2007. I have lived in the village for twenty-three years and my first association with the village was when I was five years old and learnt to ride at Havering Park Riding School. I am very passionate about the village and love its community, friendly feel. I enjoy looking after my horses and walking my dogs.”

Maggy Farley
Secretary
“I live in a house with quite a history. Originally built during the reign of ‘Farmer’ George (III), possibly at the time of the French Revolution. The house eventually became a Butchers shop owned by a family for over a hundred years. I have only lived here since the year 2000. My interests include History, Natural History and the environment. My working life revolved around Social Work and Education.“

Claire Hick
Treasurer
“Hi, my name is Claire, I have lived in the village for just over twenty years and have raised my three children here. We have been lucky enough to have Havering Country Park on our doorstep and to have Dame Tipping School just a short walk away. I have recently taken over the role of Treasurer for HABCOS.”

Michael Heap
Committee Member
“Having seen HABCOS develop into a proper village society with a strong sense of community, I am looking forward to assisting with our new website, especially with the history of this village. We are very fortunate that there are many more records available than is usually the case and I hope we can make this information readily available both concerning the buildings that we have or have had but also the people who have been instrumental in creating a very special place.”

Brian Murphy
Committee Member
“I’ve lived in the village for 27 years, on retirement I became a member of HABCOS; I was keen to join and bring some of my own ideas to the table. Through social events and charity fundraisers we are able to boost community spirit and through this we have been able to make purchases to maintain a safe environment for us all to live in, why not come and join in. Brian”

Garry Mullins
Committee Member
“My name is Gary mullins I’ve been newly co -opted to habcos ,I’ve lived in the village for just over five years and I’m keen to help keep it a nice place to live .”

Graham Neport
Committee Member
“I was invited to join HABCOS and I find it a privilege in doing so. The HABCOS committee work very hard behind the scenes. Dealing with bureaucracy for things like Tommy, the cleaning of the pond, the defibrillator, the continuous work to solve the traffic problem, as examples.”

Kaile-Louise Sherry

“Hi, my name is Kaile. I’ve been on the HABCOS committee for about a year. My role is to help with the events and marketing side! I like living in the village because it feels like a real community and we have such beautiful views, that I love to see when I ride my horse around the forest. “
